2004 Footnote

If you are really bored and reading my blog from the beginning like a total nerd (like, I would NEVER do that...snort) you will notice that there are limited entries for the early years of my blog. But I did blog more than that. I simply removed the entries that were either so shitty they embarrassed me or those that were irrelevant to my writing, me as a writer, or something book-related.

Resolutions

A great philosopher once said, "Shit or get off the pot."

This is my resolution of sorts for 2005.
It's a schedule for my oldest five or six projects. These are the novels I want to focus on almost exclusively until I start on anything else. These stories are more than ten years old. Ug, that hurts typing that.

Kalynth Sun
Blade Dancer--needs a new title as there is already a work with this title
Kore
Saved
Hazard Street
The Tempest

We'll see how it goes and whether or not I can stick to this.

Anniversary

Some things are worth fighting for.

This Halloween I will be married for six years. I love my wedding date/anniversary date, because it represents more than just a love for my husband. My husband is a very one-of-a-kind, rare, unique soul.

And I had to fight to make my marriage happen. I eloped with him on a very romantic dusky Halloween under a full moon. If I had waited for everyone's approval, I'd be single, dead...or worse.

No dramatizing, it's just that my marriage, (an event in a woman's life that traditionally nullifies what little independence women have of their own), actually gave me back more than I had to start with. I stood up and asserted my vertebrate self to the world. It was the gladest I've ever been to have a spine. I kept my name not because it's the greatest name in the world or because I hate my husband's name, it's simply that it's mine.

I know, hear me roar...or howl rather.
