Writing Rewriting and Writing Some More

The last couple of weeks have been pretty intense. Lots of writing and rewriting. I turned in two manuscripts to my editor at Ellora's Cave and have been working on cleaning up the next one while brainstorming on another for the other series. Did that make sense? Rereading...

Okay. It sorta did but not really. I'm working on two series. One is three books long. So far. It could grow but I'm not sure how just yet. That's the one I'm brainstorming on. The other series is five books long, maybe six. And it has a spin-off I'm gonna pitch some time in the future once I get these under my belt.

That made better sense. Yes! Sleep is good. I've yet to get my edits but I'm SO nervous about them. The Insecurity Imps are having a blast at my expense. You know them. They dance around flinging insults at you like monkey poo.

You hide behind your monitor in the hopes you can dodge a few but the whole time you're thinking, are they right? What if the stories suck? What if they suck so bad they cause a vacuum and suck everything into them and leave me sitting there as the sole reason the universe got sucked into my suck vacuum in the first sucky place. You get the idea. My other half is a Suck-U-bus. I don't like her!

So I keep writing, hoping the imps and the succubus will just grow annoyed and go bother someone else. Or get sucked into someone else's suckage.

Blood Oranges

Got the word this evening that Breathless Press accepted my vampire short story "Blood Oranges" for their Crimson vampire anthology.

That's two anthologies! Woot!

Below is kind a visual representation of how I feel. The leather sculpture is a work by artist Rayna Masters. Isn't it beautiful?
More of her work can be found at  www.raynamasters.com. Check her out.

Crimson

I submitted my short story "Blood Oranges" to Breathless Press' Crimson Anthology today.  It features a hero who is a vampire fruit bat and a heroine who owns a fruit orchard.

Here are some images of fruit bats.

This one is eating oranges!
A bell pepper I think. Look how cute!
Check out those wings.
This one looks like a wolf with wings.
 Truly vampiric.
